Callan Co-Op Kilkenny

Challenge: The Callan Co-op, a vital hub for the local community, needed a complete overhaul of its outdated heating system. However, closing the shop for renovations wasn’t an option – they needed a solution that wouldn’t disrupt their daily operations.

Solution: KPH partnered with the Co-op and the builder to devise a project plan. Our skilled plumbers stripped out the existing service lines and equipment, working efficiently even within the bustling shop environment. To minimise disruption, work was often conducted outside of opening hours, ensuring the Co-op continued serving their customers without interruption.

Results:

    • Modern Heating System: The Co-op now boasts energy-efficient gas radiant panels and new radiators, providing comfortable warmth throughout the winter.
    • Enhanced Airflow: A heated door curtain prevents cold drafts, leading to improved thermal comfort and lower energy bills.
    • Fire Safety Assurance: A state-of-the-art fire suppression system with hose reels, a fire break tank, and a booster pump guarantees the safety of staff, customers, and the building.
    • Uninterrupted Operations: By working collaboratively and strategically, we completed the entire project without impacting the Co-op’s daily business, demonstrating our commitment to minimizing disruption.
